Heber City is just a 40 minute drive from Salt Lake City. Good for me as I enjoy taking Pilates classes at Streamline Bodyworks in Sugar House, one of the city's oldest neighborhoods. Also, we're only 20 minutes away from Park City, with great restaurants, beautiful views and a Whole Foods grocery store! The beautiful Heber City is high up in the mountains, at an elevation of 5595 feet. From our campground, River's Edge RV Resort, we have an amazing sight of the Wasatch Mountains, and from our motorhome window we can see the dam, guarding the waters of Jordanelle State Park. We were told that the state of Utah had to build a natural reserve in order to build the dam. We're lucky the reserve is just across the street! Provo river is part of the natural reserve. It attracts many fly fishers and provides us with plenty of trails for everyday hiking. You just can't miss wildlife around here. So far we've seen a bob cat, deer, cranes, moose, osprey and beautiful birds. From here we have easy access to other gorgeous attractions, such as lakes, the water reservoir itself and state parks. Small towns like Midway, are just a treat! We're happy to have had Heber City as our first base camp!
