Yosemite NP

Such a powerful place

"No temple made with human hands can compare with Yosemite" (John Muir)

Granite and more granite. You are surrounded by granite.
In September of 2014, we left Beaverton, OR on our motorcycle to a Horizons Unlimited event in Mariposa, CA. We had a great time riding the Oregon's Outback Scenic Byway. Enjoyed the beautiful high desert in Oregon, amazing Lake Tahoe in California (and Nevada) to finally ride Tioga Pass in Yosemite. We camped, met fellow riders along the way, taught stretching techniques to help riders improve their riding experience, and exchanged ideas with like minded people. And there went our two week vacation to and back from Yosemite NP. Such a powerful place, where granite reigns and every sight you look at seems untouchable.

Yosemite turns 125 years old!

We feel like close friends to Yosemite NP. Intimate enough to invite you to celebrate Yosemite's 125th birthday!  Check out the events that are being organized in order to celebrate the existence of this amazing place.

About the park

Established on October 1st, 1890, Yosemite covers 747,956 acres of wilderness, roughly the size of Rhode Island.  The park receives about 3.3 million visitors yearly and is home for majestic mountains and spectacular views, waterfalls, Jeffrey pine and red fir trees, mule deers, chipmunks, marmots, pikas and a thousand of plant species.  It is a all-year park, granting you winter exploring activities in the Badger Pass Ski Area.

Half Dome

The massive Half Dome, gnawed by a glacier, stands 4,788 feet above the valley.  It might be one of the most photographed sights in the world.
