Lone Pine, CA
From November 5th until December 3rd of 2016

Lone Pine is home to a well preserved part of American history and culture, and a sum of all the outdoor activities you can think of. You'd be amazed by how much enterteinment Lone Pine and its surrounding towns have to offer: fishing, hiking, mountain biking, back country backpacking, off roads for atv's and motorcross and horse riding, just to name a few, and obviously what comes to my mind now! The town of Lone Pine has less than 2,000 inhabitants and it's has a feel of a middle of nowhere town! The only grocery store in town has a little bit of everything, however, their meat and produce look like they came from the very bottom of a crate. Yeah... they don't look very good. But all that can be forgotten when you drive one hour north to Bishop CA, which has a completelly different feel, plus the great Bishop has about 10,000 inhabitants. It's quite different.
Lone Pine has a similar scenery to our last location. It's half desert and half forest. To the right side of our motorhome you'll find Panamint Mountain Range, a desert looking mountain range, and just behind it, is Death Valley National Park, the hottest, lowest and dryest location in the country. To our left site you'll find the Sierra Nevada, which is home to Lake Tahoe and Mount Whitney, the highest summit in the contiguous US with an elevation of 14,505 feet (4421m). This is the first time that we were able to comphehend what the Sierra Nevada is: a massive, jaw dropping, God made granite monument. No need to explain it further! So here are some of the places we had the pleasure to visit during our stay in Lone Pine, CA.

Victor, ID
From July 3rd until October 1st of 2016
When we first started planning this journey, we knew we wanted to spend an entire summer in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem. An area that encompasses the Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks. It has been 7 years since we did our very first cross country road trip to Yellowstone National Park from Philadelphia, PA. We immediately fell in love with the idea of creation and conservation of the National Parks. We knew, right there, that we were the only ones responsible for creating opportunities for us to travel more and see all the natural wonder this country has to offer. And here we are, 7 years later, living in the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem area. After 10/1 we'll keep roaming as planned, however there's no other place we'd rather be right now. And we want to celebrate the National Park Service Centennial, right here at Yellowstone NP, the first national park to be created in the United States!
When choosing for a town to call home we picked Victor, ID, which is just across the Teton Mountain Range. Affordable rates and location was all that mattered to us. We're quite surprised with what this little town, with less than 2000 habitants, has to offer. I can't even start telling you how tasty is the food around here. People are tremendously hospitable and the amount of outdoor activities we have around here is just not conceivable! Victor is about 10 miles from another charming little town called Driggs, also in Idaho. The gorgeous town of Jackson Hole is just 30 miles across the pass. Grand Teton closest entrance is about one hour from us and we're about 2 hours away from the closest Yellowstone entrance.
We've been trying to live as ordinarily as possible (what does that mean anyways?!) from Monday through Friday and as outdoorsy as we possibly can Saturdays and Sundays and every week night. I'll tell you in more details as soon as I start posting my blogs, which by the way, I might be working on about 10 right now (I'm definitely a newbie when it comes to blogging!).
Here are some of the pictures we've taken. I hope you enjoy them!

Badlands National Park, SD
From June 27th until July 2nd of 2016
From June 27th until Saturday July 2nd, will be vacationing at Badlands National Park. We love this place!
We first visited Badlands during our very first cross country trip in the United States, back in 2007. Badlands is a great place for hiking, cycling and land exploring. Here they allow you to roam free and even ask for your help in case you happen to come across fossils! Badlands is full of geological information. The first dogs originated here in Badlands. Amazing, right?! There are currently 3 Paleontologists in the park, and only one and full time. There is a great need of cooperation from the public. Everyday ranger's talk help with educating the public with dos and don'ts and how to better your stay at the park. We're staying at the beautiful Cedar Pass Campgroung, just 0.7 miles from the Ben Reifel Visitor Center and about 9 miles away from Minuteman Missile Historic Site.
We'll be posting more pictures and updating the comments as day goes by. We're very excited to be here. It really is an honor!

Badlands National Park
Heber City, Utah
From June 13th until June 25th of 2016
Heber City is just a 40 minute drive to Salt Lake City. Good for me as I enjoy taking Pilates classes at Streamline Bodyworks in Sugar House, one of the city's oldest neighborhoods. Also, we're only 20 minutes away from Park City, with great restaurants, beautiful views and a Whole Foods! The beautiful Heber City is high up in the mountains, at an elevation of 5595 feet. From our campground, River's Edge RV Resort, we have an amazing sight of the Wasatch Mountains. From our motorhome window we can see the dam, guarding the waters of Jordanelle State Park. We were told that the state of Utah had to build a natural reserve in order to build the dam. We're lucky the reserve is just across the street! Provo river is part of the natural reserve. It attracts many fly fishers and provides us with plenty of trails for everyday hiking. You just can't miss wildlife around here. So far we've seen a bob cat, deer, cranes, moose, osprey and beautiful birds. From here we have easy access to other gorgeous attractions, such as lakes, the water reservoir itself and state parks. Small towns like Midway, are just a treat! We're happy to have had Heber City as our first base camp!
